Suzanne M. Schlernitzauer, has been
in the patient accounting and health insurance field
since 1973. She has extensive experience in hospital
business office management from her many years at Cedars
Medical Center in Miami, Florida. Additionally, she
was an integral part of the start-up and management
of all facets of a third party administration (TPA)
and medical referral service that specializes in international
insurance products and services.
Ms. Schlernitzauer has extensive experience in the
claims administration arena in the areas of processing,
repricing contract interpretation and application, reinsurance
administration, fraud detection and prevention, systems
implementation and loss ratio management.
Ms. Schlernitzauer earned the Health Insurance Associate
(HIA) designation from the Health Insurance Association
of America, the FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute)
designation, the ACS (Associate, Customer Service) designation,
the ARA (Associate, Reinsurance Administration) designation,
the AIAA (Associate, Insurance Agency Administration)
designation, and the AIRC (Associate, Insurance Regulatory
Compliance) from the Life Office Management Association
(LOMA) and is currently working toward the HealthCare
Abuse and Fraud Associate designation (HCAFA) from AHIP.
Ms. Schlernitzauer is a member of the Florida Medical
Auditors Association, Business Networking International
(Falls Chapter) and has earned an ATM-B (Advanced Toastmaster
– Bronze Level) and CL (Competent Leader) designation
from Toastmasters International. |

Dr. Carlos A. Hoyos, Senior Charge Auditor
- has 23 years of experience in the health care field.
The last 9 years have been in the health care administration.
He possesses a doctorate degree in medicine and surgery
from the University of Valley in Cali, Colombia. He is
licensed in the State of Connecticut as an Infection Control
Practitioner. He has participated in several courses in
the health insurance industry, including Health Insurance
Adjuster Course (Miami Dade Comm. College in 1998), Heath
Insurance Fraud Detection Seminar (Chicago - 1999), Certificates
from Life Office Management Association (LOMA) for Principles
of Insurance : Life, Health and Annuities, and Operations
of Life and Health Insurance Companies. He has worked
as Medical Director, Quality Control Director, Case Management
Supervisor, Bill Auditing, and Medical Specialist for
the last 8 years with an international health insurance
company and as independent contractor for IMAS. |
